Connection Kit on MacBook Pro 10.10 & 10.13 not working? - Andreas Debus - 08-22-2020 09:20 AM

Hi.

I installed CK 2018 on MacBook Pro (2011) OSX 10.10.5 and
CK 2020 on MacBook Pro (2016) OSX 10.13

The HP Prime gets recognized by the Mac and can be seen under USB devices without a problem. The CK app on the other hand does not find the HP Prime and I am unable to update the firmware or install packages on it.

Any help is highly appreciated!

I guess the first question to be asked is: which firmware on Prime?

I only have ont configuration with my 2018 MacBook Air, latest CK and latest Prime firmware. It works, but, as seen in other threads, CK often crashes during operations.

Do you see the Prime in the USB list of the Mac?

Thx for answering.

I solved my problems by creating a VM using Parallels with a Windows 8.1 installation. I then used the 2015 CK to install the 2020 firmware.
It worked! Now my HP Prime from 2013 has the newest firmware and APPs.

The support for Mac by HP is terrible. These (wabi?) CK App crashes all the time.

I also bought a tiny Intel computer and an OEM W10 licence to have better stability with the CK.
HP should open source the Mac version of the CK, we could freely work to improve it.
