covid-19 statistics - DrD - 03-31-2020 03:50 PM

Has anyone developed an hp prime statistics app/program to track the coronavirus, and are you willing to share it?

No web connection from the calculator.
I don't see the point on Web-enabled devices (phone Emu, PC Emulator)
since there are so many web pages available with various statistics.
HP Prime is primarily for educational purposes.

Although, an imaginary HP iPrime with pogo pins for a phone module could go to the net...
but that's a future complex solution to a real problem that you present.

Suppose that you wanted to track covid-19, based on your local county data, and that you wanted to keep track of statistics, such as the rate of change of key parameters, and plotting things that are not generally posted on web sites.

Suppose that you wanted to make projected estimates, based on statistics that are of interest over intervals of your own interest.

Suppose that automated input was not a key goal. That manual input of data values derived from external sources, was entirely acceptable.

Suppose that variables that seem likely to influence the numbers, are of interest to your study.

Lots of independent information could be of interest to someone, not to mention the "educational" value of the exercise itself.

Would this 'app' include SARS-COV2 data / information ?

You could use excel (Libre Office etc) data and copy paste into a connected calculator or use the Emulator
Also Mac spreadsheet & Emu works. (Linux?)
You do not need to key to n a lot of data
(so that when the last number is double checked the next results are already in => start over)

For sure, there are lots of alternatives, but I simply asked:

I was thinking it would be a timely, and interesting, (to me, anyway), use of the device. Such an app, or program, is pertinent to this specific forum. The statistic apps could be explored more in depth, possibly better understood, and maybe improvements revealed, if this topic served as a seed for creativity.

(However, if you happen to have an Octave, Maxima, or vba script, it might be fun to use that as a parallel for an hp prime program.)

This site is useful.
https://www.ft.com/coronavirus-latest

This site will not share raw data for spreadsheet analysis

So down to hand-entered data.

HP Prime is so powerful have to get another one and hack it to change PPL to C++/Basic

That should be quite a hack! Please keep us updated on your progress... Smile

The new crown virus is abused globally, and students around the world have suspended classes for online classes. The situation in China has gradually improved, and I hope that the US epidemic will soon improve.
