NP-25 Calculator 3d case and keys design - Craig Bladow - 02-25-2020 02:20 AM

I've posted the .stl files and assembly instructions for the NP-25 calculator case and keys on Thingiverse.

Thank you.

Backslash? Wink

I couldn't figure out the problem so I just attached the file. Thanks for the feedback as it appeared to be working immediately after posting.

I think Massimo was referring to the backslash symbol on the divide key on the lower-left key of the completed case. The original HP-25 had an obelus division symbol on this key.

Oh, thank you for the explanation, the symbol choice is a combination of the readily available font and limited time to find a work around. The proper division symbol did not print clearly with the equipment I am using. All of the key legends could be made clearer by printing on a resin printer or using a smaller nozzle diameter on an fdm printer.

Yes Steve, that was it.

It's strange that "\" prints out better than "/" while I understand that "÷" can be problematic if resolution is coarser.

I don't remember if there was a issue with "\" vs "/". I just checked NQ41 and it uses "/" for division.

Here is what the keys look like with an obelus symbol. The 'dots' above and below the horizontal bar did not print well on my 3D printer so it more resembled the minus symbol. I've sent this to a friend who has a resin printer to see how well it prints.
