Older Prime hardware (Revision A) does support this release, however the wireless, unit-to-unit, and data streamer functionality is not supported on earlier models.

What's the current hw revision? Is there a way to tell by the packaging? I have Rev A and would like to get a more recent model. With my luck, though, if I just go out and buy one at random, it'll also be the A version. I'd like to know how to tell without having to cut the bubble (sounds like a euphemism!)

I suppose (and hope) that what this means is that earlier version to the Revision A won't support these features but Revision A will. Am I right?

Thanks,

Miguel

Check your Revision A calc, I am guessing thats why there is no send button on the programs, the datastreamer icon is gray and no wireless setting. They forget to add a nag screen: buy the new prime Big Grin

Some say that rev C has legible labels for the keyboard letters.

What is the software version for the HP Prime?
Mine says 2014 3 31 (6030)
but the video above says (6031) (it is the emulator thou).

Well...so much for being an early adopter :-)

RE: New Version: 2014.0331 - davetheguru - 05-28-2014 12:41 AM

I first connected the Prime to the PC / Conn kit and did a backup of the calculator.
Then I updated the Conn kit program on the PC.
Then I updated the firmware of the Prime.
That was fine. However, when I checked my "custom" apps (copy of a hard app like the spreadsheet but with my own data). They were void of data. Just the icon is there (and empty spreadsheets).
So I restored the backup I made before this. No change in the apps.
So what is the best way to get MY data back to the calculator within the apps?

Also, I appreciate the announcement here. But why I saw no message on the "official" HP forum site (mobile -> calculators)? Or is this (MoHPC) the "official" site for HP?

That's the question, though: How can we tell what revision we're getting without having to take the calc out of its sealed blister pack.

This is correct. Please see the release notes TW posted.

Yes, thanks, my bad. Should have read the original quote.

Editing integers (bin/oct/dec/hex) in RPN mode, that's new isn't it? Thank you.

Hello,

I have to remove them one by one, by moving the cursor over the appropriate figure until menu [Options] appears on the menu bar and then selecting {hide Label].Thanks!

Labels in the plot setup view is for the axis labels.
Labels in the plot view (one per object) is for the name of the objects.

Have you had any luck doing animations? you can do amazing things with that...

Thank you for the clarification. I could have sworn the behavior was different in the previous firmware.

I have not tried it but I am looking forward to it. Would it be possible to do something like this Voronoi Diagrams and a Day at the Beach?

It is about using the Fortune's algorithm to build the Voronoi diagram.

What's all this revision A stuff? On my Help screen there is no mention of revision anything..

It reads:
HP Prime

Software version 2013 11 25 (5447)
CAS version 1.1.0-27
Serial Number 4CY34307WL

Is my calc upgradable?

Yes, it's upgradeable, and after you do, you'll see the hardware revision in the Help screen. The now-obsolete rev 5447 doesn't show the hardware version.

Thank's Joe [guess I'm off to hunt down a windows box to perform the update.]

The link is in this page (around the middle) http://www.ams.org/samplings/feature-column/fcarc-voronoi
As Patrice says, it is about Fortune's algorithm. Apparently they are xflash animations and do not show in my iPad. They show on my pc.
