I see five workshopers :-) My main topic will be about PIL-IO applications (the PIL-Box is already well-known...) : using HP-IL to control I/Os and communicate with an Arduino board. But there are other subjects we can discuss about... And I will propose to PIL-Box owners present in the meeting a free firmware update. Bring your PIL-Box(es) ! If you want to join too, drop me a mail. RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - patrice - 10-28-2014 08:51 PM If you got a 71B with problems, I will bring an HP71 Diagnostic ROM. RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - MeindertKuipers - 10-30-2014 07:16 PM Unfortunately I will not be attending the meeting in Allschwill this coming weekend. I am in between business trips and decided I wanted to spend the weekend at home. I wish you all to ENTER a very good meeting and a STACK full of fun! RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - Dave Frederickson - 10-31-2014 11:01 PM In addition to all the calculator talk, those of us who won't be attending will be missing this. RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - Marcus von Cube - 11-01-2014 10:24 PM I'm back from the meeting and I enjoyed it very much. We had a real life demonstration of a Kern theodolite from the 80ies with an HP 41cy (W&W) and three HP-IL devices (printer, diskette and a new device made of a PIL-IO board and an Arduino that emulates a disk drive on an SD card. The system is still in active duty! RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - d b - 11-02-2014 04:20 AM (11-01-2014 10:24 PM)Marcus von Cube Wrote: I'm back from the meeting and I enjoyed it very much. A Kern & 41 system would be a joy to use. Did the theodolite use the Kern 4 legged tripod? Those were cool, and fast to set up once one got accustomed to it. RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - Namir - 11-02-2014 05:14 AM Did anyone take a video of the presentations--to be posted on YouTube? We have seen both units: the PIL-IO from Jean-Francois garnier as well as your linked unit: Thanks Tobie for this brilliant job. It is now working on the Kern theodolite. The guy who showed us the theodolite is a swiss surveyor who is still working with HP-41CY, so this is NO joy for us RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - HP-Collection - 11-02-2014 10:12 AM An eventful day is behind us. Numerous names have gotten a face and I was able to inform me in a very wide array of the latest developments. The cozy dinner at ZickZack, with some obscure figures next to us was a grand finale. I want to thank you all with all my heart for the beautiful day and I look forward to seeing you again in Allschwil. I will make a short summary in my website with all issues we were talking about and the related workshoper so that every (U.S.) guy can see, what he was missing RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - charger73 - 11-02-2014 10:49 AM (11-02-2014 09:11 AM)Didier Lachieze Wrote:it is possible to use a PIL-BOX or a PIL-IO with PIL-BOX Firmware..(11-01-2014 10:24 PM)Marcus von Cube Wrote: and a new device made of a PIL-IO board and an Arduino that emulates a disk drive on an SD card. You can find it here: Allschwil Meeting 2014 Report (sorry, german only, as long as nobody wants to do a better translation than Google translate) RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - Sylvain Cote - 11-03-2014 10:05 PM (11-03-2014 07:56 PM)Mike (Stgt) Wrote: For my HP-GL plotter linked to Virtual IL i found one beta tester, so it is quite probable that it will be published one day. If you need another beta tester, I would be interested to test your implementation. I have two HP-7470A: 1) HP-7470A-003 (HP-IL) 2) HP-7470A-002 (HP-IB) + HP-82169A (HP-IL/IB interface) and I do have the usual setup (controllers, modules & PIL-Boxes) to test with. Sylvain RE: Allschwil Meeting 2014 - J-F Garnier - 11-06-2014 08:28 PM Hello all, I put my PIL-IO presentation on line here. J-F |
