The G2 has only the HP logo.

Actually there (at least) are two other cases:
  1. My very old G1 and never updated has just a logo
  2. The moble app has no startup screen at all

Rev D is G2
The HW version is also output by the VERSION(2) command.

So the command give only a "D" - thanks a lot.

“Fabricado da China” ???

On the backplate of my HP-12C (CNA 83816873) it reads “Fabricado no China”, which was also wrong. “Made in China” translates in Portuguese as “Fabricado na China”.
The French text is not correct either: Chine, not China.

My daughter’s often quite inclined to point out poor French translations on packaging, so, upon reading this post, I mentioned there’s another kindred spirit out there, but with Portuguese in mind. She came over, and with a quick glance at the image said “yes, but shouldn’t the accent be on the first, not the second, ‘e’?” (i.e., “Fabriqué en Chine”). Then we dithered as to just what appears above the second “e”. (A bit of dust?)

... after writing the above, I took a look at a couple of Primes here, and yes, they too have something molded in the case at the same spot, just above the second “e”. (I was tempted to think that perhaps there were no accented characters on the back.)

I can confirm on 3 primes here, Rev A and C they all have the accent over the wrong e (second one). It's clearly an accent.
