HHC 2019 will be in Reno, Nevada, Sept 21-22 - Joe Horn - 04-10-2019 01:15 AM

Announced today: This year's HHC (the 47th annual international conference whose primary audience is users of HP programmable handhelds) will be in Reno, Nevada (USA) on the weekend of September 21-22. A special "HHC 2019" room rate is currently being negotiated with the Hyatt Place Reno-Tahoe Airport Hotel, the same hotel which hosted HHC 2014.

The HHC 2019 website will go online about a week from now at http://hhuc.us with the special room rate details appearing soon thereafter. For emailed updates, join the HHC Mailing List.

The HHC 2019 website is finally up and running at http://hhuc.us/2019/index.htm

The registration form for potential attendees is up and running, with a list of registered attendees kept updated HERE. Even if you're not sure you'll attend, but think you might, please register anyway, letting us know your current probability of attending. You see, every year, the sum of every self-guesstimated "Probability of Attending" (PoA) is very close to the actual number of attendees, and this helps us save a lot of money when making plans and buying supplies for the conference. So thanks in advance for pre-registering even if you might not attend!

The PoA field in the registration form is limited to 4 charaters, since the biggest possible PoA is 100%. The most clever PoA submitted to date was Roger Hill's "pi^4". Big Grin

The official conference hotel is already accepting reservations at a special HHC rate. N.B. Their special HHC rate offer ends August 29.

Kudos to anybody who finds and reports bugs in the website. Hope to see you in Reno at HHC 2019!

I am almost ready for HHC 2019 8-)

Airplane tickets have been bought.
Arrival: Thursday, 15h04
Departure: Monday, 18h26

Hotel room has been reserved (thank you Robert).

Joe,
Thank you for the website update, registration done!

Gene,
I have not indicated that I will give a talk on my registration, but I may have one.
I am currently updating my compendiums and creating a HP-41 assisted decompiler spreadsheet.
If the decompiler spreadsheet is ready enough in August, I could give a small talk on it in September.

Sylvain

I'm probably not going to be able to make it this year: possible jury duty and a lot of unexpected surprises this summer Sad

I just made my reservations. See you in Reno! Unfortunately, Scottie can't come this year. Sad

Just email or PM Joe Horn and he'll add you to the list. Having that up to date makes planning easier for the HHC committee.

See you there.

Olivier, please use the online registration form here: https://hhuc.us/2019/regform.htm

The "Probability of Attending" values have been very useful in the past for planning, so thanks in advance for registering online! See you in Reno!

I did fill and submit the form over a week ago. Did it get lost ? Should I resubmit it ?

Oh my goodness, I just checked my Gmail "spam" folder, and both Geoff Quickfall's and your application forms were in there! So sorry! Blush I will update the Attendees list ASAP!

There may be a possibility for me to go after all: I was released from jury duty. I got to see if I can get time off from the boss for the Friday and Monday surrounding the weekend. The earliest I can book is Monday.

Eddie

Any news from the conference?
Will the programming contest be made available to the Forum?

RE: HHC 2019 will be in Reno, Nevada, Sept 21-22 - Joe Horn - 09-22-2019 02:04 AM

The conference is currently underway (Namir Shammas is giving a talk entitled "Multi-Variable SOlver" at this very moment). The programming contest was created by David Ramsey. If nobody else posts it, I'll post it late this evening before I go to bed. .....

EDIT: The online conference schedule is being updated in real time, to document what actually happened. You can follow it here: https://hhuc.us/2019/schedule.htm

Gee, in years past the contest info has been posted on Saturday morning. That's why I emailed you and others asking for it. It's past 10:30pm CDT and still no info... :-(

Sorry, Brian, you only sent that email a few hours ago, and I only received it now, at the end of the first day of the conference. David Ramsey wrote the contest and is currently the only person who has the contest in electronic form. I said I'd post it this evening, but now that I see folks feel entitled to it, I am disinclined to do so. Maybe somebody else will do so. Good night.
