WP-34S Resetting After SetDate - drdbthompson - 04-07-2019 04:47 PM I pulled out my WP-34S this morning and noticed it would not power up. I replaced the batteries, started the calculator, and was greeted with "Restored." At that point, I attempted to set the date. The calculator responded with "Reset" and would not accept a new date. Nor will it accept a new time. After searching the forum, I cannot find a solution. Has anyone else experienced this problem? Is there a troubleshooting approach I should use to determine what has happened and how to fix it? Thanks for any and all help. RE: WP-34S Resetting After SetDate - Paul Dale - 04-07-2019 11:28 PM It sounds like the new batteries are a bit flat. Pauli RE: WP-34S Resetting After SetDate - drdbthompson - 04-08-2019 02:21 AM Thanks for the note, Paul. The problem seems to be resolved. The battery voltage is reported to be 3.3v. I finally found the protocol to update the firmware (RTFM, of course) and renewed the firmware, just in case. The machine has been working fine all afternoon. I have no idea what happened. It could be that I pulled the new batteries from the refrigerator and they were too cold to be at nominal voltage. Again, thanks. |
