HP19C : internal views and question about the printer - albertofenini - 02-16-2019 09:00 PM

Hi everyone,
we also worked today on our HP19C
we had seen some oxidation on one of the battery pins in the battery compartment and we decided
to open the unit, also the ON - PRGM - RUN switch was unstable.
We want to share some internal pictures, may be can be useful for someone.
We can see some oxidation on the logic board, more than oxidation from battery leakage,
the unit is very clean, looks like oxidation for the age of the unit, is like some traces are
getting opaque.
We cleaned everything with Deoxit and we injected some drops under the switch, which is now
working properly.

The question is this : The printer works, but we would like to have a more incisive printing,
is there any way of getting the printed characters more strong than this ?

Thank you very much !!!

Probably one of the trim pots on lower left of image #3. I think one is for print adjust and the other is for motor speed adjust. Not sure which is which.

cheers

Is the paper OK? If it's old (or came with the calculator) it might be worth trying a fresh roll.
