Smile

I'm done with the old one. Didn't find another one, though.

At $1.99/each, it's a good thing they are in "good condition"!

Um... that should say TAS, not TOS. TOS (The Other Site) is run by Warren Furlow and is specifically related to the HP-41.

"For parts" I get it, but "not working"? that looks like a working screw to me! Smile Actually this is a not too bad HP fetish. You might need a screw for your 45 and this saves you the expense of a Vernier. Screws are tricky... The price per gram of 45 is out of market though Smile (and 20$ for shipping a screw to Spain is just great)

That's the seller that located a "golden zebra" for Aurelio. She's going through some tough times. Perhaps you could cut her some slack.

Now I feel bad Blush Now seriously, this is a reasonable auction. The price is probably right (shipping here is not), it could well be higher. It's a thread in jest, no offence intended.

There does seem to be an increasing trend of reducing vintage HPs to their fundamental quanta for sale. I suspect that most of the calculators broken down in this way were not fully functional. Tearing apart a single kaput calculator to serve as an organ donor to enable the restoration of many others seems like a noble sacrifice.

Yap, the worst thing that can possible happen when rebuilding a machine is to find out that one tiny screw is missing...
Of course there are plenty of screw replacements in the market. For that asking price I can get a box of them. But then I would know, and nothing is better than the original one, isn't it?

I would think with the community of collectors/repairers and hackers in this forum, we could relinquish small parts like this when need for that critical restoration.

I would! Lord knows I have a few loose (HP) screws....

Hi Matthais,

I "see" your screw and raise you a used rudder (sic) foot. TAS Item 151292708883.

It's the same seller and I truly feel sorry for her, but I couldn't help myself.

Dave
