hi, potentially silly question here; I've searched, but not found this mentioned anywhere:
Does the Prime have to be On while charging?
It comes on, when you insert a powered USB cable, if off, but can I turn it off again and let it charge with the screen off? Or does it have to be On?
I could test it, but with the lack of granularity in the battery level display, it's not obvious.
Mine is a G2 if that makes a difference.

No. It charges fine when turned off.

The calculator charges when it is turned off. Tested.

Just to clarify: I didn't write that quote above, which came from @Voldemar.
To answer your question:
I don't believe so, no.
I just checked my G2: 3.7V, 7.4Wh, 2,000mAh
I don't have an earlier model, but I believe they came with a 1,500mAh battery.
edit: if you meant physical size, I can't say as I don't have both to compare.

About the size, yes, they are the same. I removed my 2200 mhA Samsung battery from my G1 to G2. No problem.
