HP-97 Printer Gear - aj04062 - 04-21-2014 12:06 PM

You all might of seen at one time there were aluminum gears on eBay. The gear mfg has run out of the initial batch and will not produce these anymore unless he does a production run of 50.

I'm tossing it out to the community to see if we collectively could get this qty. I would take a few, (5-10) but not 50.

Please reply to the thread.

Depending on the value I want 10.

For me too, depending of the total cost, 5-10 is a reasonable ammount.
Let me know.

I'll check to see if we can get a run of 30 pieces. Any other takers? 50 pc run will be less per than 30!

Curious if the above takers are folks that do these repairs. If so, then I would (when needed) get one through them, but if not, it might make sense to get a small supply for the rest of us.

Do you have any sense how much they would be per gear? I would probably be interested in 5 to 10 depending on what the unit price would be.

I did get a gears that is the same pitch and number of teeth but I had to grind down the hub on the gear and it is designed for a larger shaft so I had to put a spacer in, it works, but the printer has a definite wheeze, if these gear are an aluminum duplicate of the original maybe they will be a bit quieter.

To answer the question above I don't fix calculators as a business, but I do fix my own and have fixed them for others on occasion.

RE: HP-97 Printer Gear - aj04062 - 04-27-2014 01:15 AM

They are about $9 each at 50 pcs.

I've asked about a smaller run (if he will do it) and if he would hold the price.

They are a PERFECT fit. No messing around.

Ok you can put me down for 10 if it will help get them made, I have no immediate need for that many, but maybe in the future I may, or perhaps even give them away to people in need.

I'll commit to purchasing five (5). I only need four--but with small parts, it is always good to have an extra.

Cool!

I think we have enough vouchers. I'll initiate with the gear mfg.

Okay, they are all spoken for.

Thanks

RE: HP-97 Printer Gear - hoshikawa - 05-09-2014 11:19 PM

now I wish I had waited a bit longer before replacing my defective gear. I had to commission a 'one off' at great expense, nearly $60!
