Ribbon Cable Replacement on HP 97 - OtakuN3rd - 08-18-2018 02:39 AM

Hello,

I am working on repairing an HP 97 calculator for a friend and the ribbon cable going to the card reader fell apart.

Is anyone aware of a replacement for these? What about constructing a new ribbon cable and converting to a different type of pin header?

Its a 13 conductor cable with a 2.54mm pitch between contacts.

Thanks!

try digikey

I have used this before but I don't remember the exact number....

Did you think using an old IDE connector cable? The wire spacing is suitable. Once read somewhere. Have an HP97 in repair that sometimes runs the card reader and sometimes not. Thought it could be a problem with the cable and try that kind of substitute (not yet done)
