Doesn't look like they really have already totally dropped that ball. However: has a model ever vanished from the company store to reappear later on? RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - Namir - 04-19-2014 12:36 PM My vote is for "a" .. looks more logical to me. I do the second So I can tell my grandchildren when they learn about logs that the manufacturer meant LG but printed LOG since he was based in the USA. Remember international math rules and definitions are for all countries - and all countries are equal but one is even more. Life would be less than half as exciting if one wouldn't come across the same again and again. Good grief. d:-I RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - walter b - 04-19-2014 02:06 PM There were quite some complaints posted on this forum about the US website of HP doing all sorts of strange things. Thus I wouldn't count a model vanishing there as sufficient evidence for it being stopped. OTOH, when a model is listed on the official website it's for sale for sure - so it looks like the 30b is alive still. d:-) RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - Massimo Gnerucci - 04-19-2014 03:39 PM (04-19-2014 07:54 AM)walter b Wrote:(04-18-2014 05:10 PM)Matt Agajanian Wrote: I'm more comfortable with the base 10 logarithm function labeled LOG rather than design A's LG label. Then, please, go ISO 31-11 or ISO 80000-2 fully and use lg and ln, not LG and LN. :) RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - walter b - 04-19-2014 04:04 PM (04-19-2014 03:39 PM)Massimo Gnerucci Wrote: Then, please, go ISO 31-11 or ISO 80000-2 fully and use lg and ln, not LG and LN. Does that mean we shall go to sin, cos, tan, etc. as well? Sounds like a calculator revolution ... d:-) RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - Manolo Sobrino - 04-19-2014 04:08 PM Lasciate OGni speranza, voi ch'entrate... Do you see something wrong (apart lg vs log, that I prefer btw) with it? Seems no revolution is necessary. Damn, it was so over... now I have to see a layout im Fraktur. RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - walter b - 04-19-2014 05:27 PM Good old times So we'd need ln, lg, sin, cos, tan, asin, acos, atan, hyp, deg, and rad. The remainder are just capital English abbreviations. Hope I didn't overlook any important function. Our pixel designers are screaming for joy. d;-) RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - Massimo Gnerucci - 04-19-2014 05:46 PM (04-19-2014 05:27 PM)walter b Wrote: Good old times ;) You gave the first kick, now the stone is rolling... ;) RE: A sweet little poll about the WP 31S layout - Matt Agajanian - 04-19-2014 06:16 PM (04-19-2014 08:04 AM)walter b Wrote:(04-18-2014 09:31 PM)Matt Agajanian Wrote: Now that HP's not selling the 30B (but perhaps they could be had from auction, surplus sites, etc.), what calcs are now used to provide the base for building a 31/34S? Thanks for the update. Perhaps I've missed where the 30B is featured when I visit the HP site. I just went to hp.com/calculators and browsed through the Financial Calculators section and no 30B in sight--10bII+, 17bII 300s+, 35s, 12c, etc. but no 30b. Isn't hp.com/calculators valid? Am I not putting the correct URL for HP in my browser? Poll result and a new question - walter b - 04-19-2014 09:19 PM Thanks to all voters! The result is displayed above. There are some who want to see more lower case letters on the keys. So the new alternatives are a) or c) now. What do you think about them? d:-? |
