and having them shown in my posts? I have tried uploading them to hosts and then inserting the code. But that does not help at all. What am I doing wrong?

Your are using in the image tag the link to the host page (https://imgur.com/a/WJsdq) instead of a link to the picture itself (https://i.imgur.com/y9bSVSm_d.jpg?maxwidth=640&shape=thumb&fidelity=medium). This is why it is not displayed as a picture.
