That's the exact same one I used to sell (was charging $25 until I ran out a few months ago), and I can confirm that that is probably the best USB to serial adapter you can buy.

RE: HP48GX Newbie Needs Help
I would like to point out that on many modern motherboards there is still a serial connector to which just add a cable like this:
https://www.amazon.com/Serial-Motherboar...oard+cable
obviously this note does not apply to notebooks, tablets, etc ...

Hardware: Hp48S - Hp50g (5x black + 1 blue) - HP39gII - Hp27s - Casio fx-CG50

Holy Retro! My Asus MB has connectors for both serial and parallel ports! Thanks for the info Franz.

There are several large electronics retailers like Mouser. They are (mostly) selling to businesses. If you order over a 100 Euros the shipping becomes reasonable. It's sad, but they're not reasonable for small parts for various projects. If you make a list and can wait, they can be a good choice.

Must be nice! I found a company purchased HP48GX in a filing cabinet at work, but it's a big no no to plug it into anything (card slot is taped shut). So I have to be content with whatever I can type into it.
