Just checked the Swiss Micro web site and saw that Michael was taking order. SO I ordered one. Came to above USD 200 with shipping. Not cheap, but certainly worth it.

ANyone else ordered it?

Merry Christmas to all!

Namir
Sorry to break it to you, but you're a bit late to the party Smile

I am a few days late ... not a terrible delay.

Well, even though I signed up for the e-mail announcement of the DM-42 availability, I never got it. So, don't feel bad Namir! Big Grin

Never got it also... waiting... Smile
I asked Michael about the notification e-mails and why some people didn't receive them.

The reason for this is because there were some 700 people who signed up for the notification. DM42s are being produced at a rate slower than Michael would like but it is what it is. He's basically assembling them on his own. People are being informed by e-mail on a first-come-first-served basis.

So, with the first 100 units on the shelf, the first 100 people to sign up to the notification were, well... notified. With the next 100 units, the next 100 people were notified etc...

Well, thank you for info!

Thanks very much for this explanation! I was disappointed, but now I can feel much better about Swiss Micro, and their follow-through on their messaging.

Hello Co-calc-lovers, I also didn't got my mail (yet), but I was wondering how those lucky ones placed their order since I don't see the DM42 on the order-page of SM. (By the way, what would be its price in EUR? About 170 € I suppose?)
https://www.swissmicros.com/order.php

First item on the list. And yes, about 170 €.

The SM order page at https://www.swissmicros.com/order.php shows the DM42 available for purchase at ~ 170 €. Try clearing your browser cache or try a different browser.

I received mine in the USA yesterday. It has a good, solid feel to it. I haven't used it extensively yet to check my unit but am rather disturbed by the number of reports of keys not registering properly. Given previous experience with D & M at SwissMicros, I'm confident that any problems will be resolved to the satisfaction of buyers.

I was having a little trouble with 2 and + being a little bit less responsive than other keys, so I very carefully peeled up the keyboard layer and cleaned out the domes and contacts a bit. They seem fine now.

I am noticing a decent amount of key bounce - nowhere near what you'd get on a 49G with KEYTIME set to 0, but it's there. Hopefully a future firmware update adds some configurable software debouncing.

Funny, I've owned a beta unit for the last 6 months and there has been no bouncing to speak of...
I've experienced a little bounce too several times but part of it could be me not being used to how hard I need to press.

makes sense.

I checked here since I didn't get an email. Ordered last week and it came yesterday.
Very fast.

Go into SETUP, 3. Settings and select 5. Slow Auto-repeat. This solved the bounce problem with hard buttons for me.
Thanks, I'll try that for a bit (though I did enjoy the fast scrolling in programs!)
Apparently it is not possible to place orders anymore, by using their portal order page:
When you type in anumber higher than zero in the Qty field, the message is:
