Full Version: HP 15C emulator iOS: is it classic one or LE?

For the HP 15C emulator in iOS in the iPad we can see an image of "Limited edition" but in iPhone it appears only a classic calculator; however both iPad and iPhone actually have a calculator without the "Limited edition" words impressed.

I wonder: is it only a different (or casual) image? there is the classic processor emulation in both devices?

I'd like HP would offer both classic and LE 15C, like the HP 12C with the "Platinum" version... Who knows... Smile

Unlike the 12C and 12C Platinum, I don't think there's any significant difference between the 15C and 15C LE firmware with respect to operation, if any. Why do you want both?

Except for the bugs in the LE f/w...
I might be wrong, but I think the 15C LE uses an unchanged 15C firmware with an emulator on top of it.

Hmmm, I think the underlying software may be the same. At least the computing engine.

The image displayed on the iPhone may be simply a bitmap for that resolution, and the iPad would use another bitmap resource. I don't think they would fork the code to have it handle input with separate engines.

If you're installing the same exact app from the App Store, then it should be the same for both devices, simply with different bitmaps.

actually they seems to be at the same speed, but I didn't make specific tests.
The images are the same for both devices. The different image are in the respective presentation in the Apple Store: for iPhone the classic image, for iPad the "Limited edition", so I had that curiosity...
