[Following on from a discussion about shipping delays and conveniences]
all Europeans so far because the ones living in America (North, Central, South) are sleeping.
We Europeans are the majority so far.
Also i guess i know who were the votes from South America and Australia, i mean, Oceania.

So the only thing you really can conclude is regional demographics for those members that choose to participate in this poll... so far 1.35% of the membership (I just had to get a calculation in here somewhere).
According to Wikipedia the population of Antarctica is 1106. They can still win by a significant margin!
However if we include the native inhabitants of Antarctica, we would be talking about a very large population indeed, even counting only the penguins.
Seriously, I thought that the Antarctica human population was essentially composed of spies, i mean, monitoring scientists, and these probably require other sophisticated tools in their work.

This is a nice observation that triggers a question from my side. Normally polls, for example voting polls, need a sample size of ~3000 random people to represent the voting decisions of millions.
Wouldn't it be similar in this case? We are less than 10'000 so a sample of ~100 people may be a good approximation of all of them?
Note that I am asking, I never dived in the mathematics of sample sizes (if you have directions to follow, please share!)

This thread is posted right where it should be, in "not remotly hp calculators". However; a lot of people who only look at the Prime forum will miss it. If someone is interested, they could leave a link there and this might get more participation. That post might also mention that checking the continent/location in the poll is more important in this context than only writing that info in a post.

In the case of this Forum, I think it is not just the size of the sample, but also how long you collect the votes that matters before you could consider it 'enough' to draw conclusions. There are many members that I consider 'regulars' that only visit once a week, or every few weeks, or even less than monthly (Hello Valentin...). I would say 60 days is long enough, beyond that I think there will not be significant change, though it's likely new posts will accumulate here, slowly, for years (new members affect this too).
