Hello,

If I have a function plotted is there a way to quickly plot the tangent line at a point?

Hello,
use softkey "TANL" in picture "FCN" menu. See user guide (http://www.hpcalc.org/details/3937), page 22-11 (295).

Kind regards,
Joerg

Thanks but that seems to only display the equation of the function - is there a way to plot it?

Or did I misunderstand something?

You could take the derivative of the function and plot that with the same axes and scaling.
