Please excuse my flippant subject field. Maybe it should be Red October 9100?

Here's an interesting one from:
http://www.sql.ru/forum/850258/skomunizdzheno-sssr-om

Last time I put a link in it was messed up. People tried to help, but, hey its me. IDK. So if you append all together:

www dot sql.ru slash forum slash 850258 slash skomunizdzheno-sssr-om

you should get there; 4th entry down. Tried to append pictures to the post, but I don't know how to make it work correctly.

While trying locate info on a Sharp machine, noticed pictures of an "HP-9100B". Nomenclature is in Russian, card reader is on the opposite side, one key in the right keypad is different and the case seems more like a 9800.

Don't recall seeing anything like it before.

Clone? Genuine HP product? Don't see any vendor/brand mark on it.

For everyone's entertainment.
Noticed a comment at the top of the posting. Google translate doesn't swap some of the words. But it implies all cars in Russia are copies of foreign counter-parts. Not sure if they mean they're knock offs or foreign models with Russian rebranding trying to make it sound "made at home."

Didn't notice that at 1st.

Still oblivious how the poster inteded it. Guess I'm slow.
Following the link in the first referenced post you can follow to
http://www.leningrad.su/museum/show_calc.php?n=211
where you see it is Russian Elektronica T3-16, looks like HP 9100B.
Oh.

Thanks AndiGer!

Didn't notice a link at the bottom of the pictures that translated (so Google says) to "in detail". Assume that's what you mean, it is an intermediary link to the site you quoted.

Your post was very informative, which essentially, answered my own personal curiosity. i.e. the device is not a HP product that happens to look different due to a "Russian" paint and body job. That is, its a Russian made product based on full/partial reverse engineering?
Yes, I think it was reverse engineering. Can't read much Russian.

Later in time GDR's Robotron re-created IBM mainframes by reverse engineering.
