Recently I released an HP-67 emulator for Windows, which is discussed in this thread

Now I released many more microcode emulators for the Classic models, complete Woodstock models and complete Spice models.

You can download them for free.

Classic
Woodstock
Spice

There is no installation necessary except the optional 7-Segment font. The manual is part of the HP-67 download.

If anybody will sell an HP-70 to me, I will be interested for extracting the microcode, which nobody has done yet, therefore this emulator is missing. Sad

A nice collection, many thanks!

Just an info: the file HP32Emulator.zip is damaged, i.e. the HP-32E can't be extracted.

Same problem as Franz; others I tried seemed OK.

OK, if more than one have the same problem, I have to upload again. Try again in 10 minutes.

After I had success to ask Alejandro to come to the Allschwil meeting, I now try it with you. How about joining us, giving a talk on your projects?

I cannot confirm this, just try again.

Bernhard

Just confirmed once again. I can download and send you the file I get if that could help.
Now the HP32E download works again!

Yes, but the 33 Link is no longer there.

Not complaining Bernhard, just FYI
Bernhard,

Fantastic - thinks for making these available.

Just one little question. I'm playing around with the HP25. I see that there are three jpeg files. How do I switch between them?

Thanks,

Bill

Sorry, the manual is not yet updated for every detail. You can switch by renaming one of them to "woodstock.bmp". You can also select an image of your own, if it has proper aspect ratio. For Classic models the filename must be "Classic.bmp" and for Spice models ..... try by yourself Smile

Thanks Bob for this info. Link is reestablished!

Just tried it and it works great!!

I tried to run your emulators under OSX, so far without success:
  1. I know it will work with Parallels Desktop, so I skipped this step (too much overhead)
  2. I tried with CrossOver. I found a log message telling me to install Mono for Windows in the respective Wine Bottle. This still didn't help.
  3. I tried with Mono for OSX. "mono HP35.exe" seems to start but no window is visible.

Any ideas?

Edit: BTW, your TTF will not properly install under OSX. I did an import into FontForge and an export to TTF. This results in a workable font file (attached).
So far I tried the HP45 emulator. Works fine under ubuntu 14.04 and wine.

Thanks for making these available!

I have no influence on things, that happen with virtual machines. All emulators are C# .NET 3.5 applications.

But don't worry if it does not work on your machine. I will release all emulators also as native ubuntu versions soon. Just need some time. Smile

I just tried the HP-25 on a Raspberry PI 3 running Ubuntu Mate with Mono
and it worked fine with the default bmp. But when I tried larger bmp's, the key presses were off. - picture of calculator looked good, but the keypress was still mapped to the original size. Probably something to do with how mono is handling the scaling.

I do get a warning message when started with Mono:

WARNING: The runtime version supported by this application is unavailable.
Using default runtime: v4.0.30319.

After warning, it does run and seems fine in the default bmp size.

They all seem to work fine. So from my point of view there is no need for a linux version.
But where is the HP65? Do I need to send you parcel again?

Fortunately I acquired an HP-65 recently and I promise an emulation will be available soon, it just needs some more research. It is not running yet, but I clearly see the way to go.

Obviously you didn't have problems with virtually running the emulators, but others seem to have.

Bernhard,

I notice that the active area for the keypress on the HP-25 is too high.
It does not surround the key equaly on all side.

This isn't too big a problem when using a mouse,
but does create key press errors on a tablet using touch.
(Probably due to my fat fingers).

How difficult would it be to center the active area around the key?

Thanks,

I will provide a more general solution, which allows you to adjust the active area also for all possible user images including different aspect ratios. The next version will read a file with key positions, that you can define. I will release the versions tomorrow.

Thank you for your feedback and any suggestions.
