Does anybody have a scan of this?

Thank you.
Here you go...
It was there, really. Swallowed by the preview...
Bob, thank you very much. I have this already- I am hoping to find the whole paper that is excerpted here in Chapter 2. I don't know how much of the information in the JAFR paper made it into the RPLMAN document. The original paper must be somewhere but I have not managed to find it. I did find an archive of "Journal of Applied Forth Research" but I did not find Wickes' paper in that archive even in the 1988 section.
If you do find it, please post it here, as I've looked for it off and on for about a year with no luck. I suspect the larger document does not have much more of direct interest to RPL users, but like you, I want to read it to find out, and hope that I'm wrong.
Certainly!
The meat of the interpreter is described on page 7 of RPLMAN. Note that in theory the first word of a prolog points to itself, but as described in the middle of the page, in practice it is a word that does something useful during indirect execution and points to something useful (PRLG) during direct execution.

So if you look at an object prolog with JAZZ, it won't match the first description.

Also, many objects don't return to the inner loop when they are done. Instead they just execute a copy of the inner loop code. This saves the time taken by the jump.

Dave
Thank you. I'm still interested in seeing the actual paper for historical purposes.
I contacted the president of the Institute and he will try to find it and scan it for me.

Dave
Great! Thank you.
For anyone that's interested, I've put a scan of the paper that HP67 was looking for here:

https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/85990723/Wickes.pdf

It's too big to attach, but I can keep it there for a while.

Edit: Thanks to the efforts of David Hayden, I need to mention that this comes from The Proceedings of the 1988 Rochester Forth Conference held by the Institute for Applied Forth Research, Inc. If anyone provides a more permanent home for this paper, this citation needs to be included.
Thank you.

Thank you for sharing. The article was a very interesting read. For those interested in RPL but who haven't read RPLMAN.DOC, I'd recommend reading that one as well.

RPLMAN.DOC is where I saw the reference to the Wickes paper in the first place, and wanted to research further. Luckily StephenR0 was able to find it for us.

Walter: RPLMAN is on hpcalc.org in various formats. Here's the PDF copy:

Thanks to HP67 and Han, the latter also for properly responding in thread.
