During the 80's I bought a copy of Vol. 1. from EduCALC. I was disappointed to find that it was a photocopy. Are your manuals printed originals or photocopies?

I don't believe "original" prints ever were supplied by HP, but could be wrong. When one of the very first sets of the IDS appeared at the PPC clubhouse, it was some sort of copy (different process in 1984 vs. today) and all copies I've seen since then are similar.

Since HP did sell the IDS directly to developers and corporate customers, they may have been printed (or copied) better, but I'd guess the estimated total sales never warranted a formal publishing/printing process.

I've also never seen any form of Cover Pages, etc. furthering the suspicion that all copies sold were not originals.

Thanks for keeping it in the community Matthias, vs. TAS-ing. I have a full set otherwise I would have sent an offer.

My original IDS volumes (bought from HP by the company I worked for at the time) also look as original printed sets.

Matthias,
Too bad that you don't have the IDS for the 2CCCC ROM for sale.
What is the date of your HP-IL IDS edition? There was two editions (at least?): preliminary edition dated January 1984 (it's the edition present on the MoHPC DVD), and an updated edition dated March 1984 (the edition I own) with several documentation and source code changes (see here).

... and I didn't get a binder! I guess it's a little late to ask for a refund. Sad

What do you estimate the shipping costs to be to the U.S.?

Dave
Shipping cost to Sgonico, Italy, postal code 34010 ?
Thx

PM Sent!
The manuals are very heavy, between 2kg and 5kg. The shipping costs will be arround €50 (Europe) and €70 (Ovesea), sorry. I should think about getting some shares from the Swiss Post.
Between this and Mark Hardman's collection perhaps we can get some new scans of the IDS. Smile
