interesting: many users, having pre-ordered a -512, opted for the -1024 later on.

Hans,

I've sent several emails to the address listed in the original post but have not received a reply. I'll send another order request now just to be sure.

Thanks!

Thanks’ for all the efforts made to make the 71b an even greater machine.
I'm interested in a 512k, are there some left? Eventually, will there be some separate 512k ext. available in the future?
Will mail. Thanks, André.

Hi André,

Per Post #1 you'll need to send Hans an email. He won't respond to PM's.

Regarding the separate 512k extension, it currently exists as all FRAM71B-1024k modules are comprised of a 512k base module plus the 512k extension.

Good Luck, Dave
Thanks’ Dave,
That’s what I did; one 512 is coming… Smile
From what I understand there is not ‘512k Extender only’ available at the moment, but maybe Q3/2017, if people are interested.

Hi André,

Very good! I'm kind of surprised that there're some left.

Hans did announce that he'd be selling the leftover PCB's later this year so you could assemble one yourself. I have to say that the 1024k option is one of the coolest features.

I have a FRAM chip left over, so I'm looking forward to the PCB/kit.

I am also interested in one board, please put my name on the list.

Bernhard
sorry guys,
all unpopulated FRAM71B main boards are already gone.
some unpopulated -512 extender boards are still available, though.
I may be interested in an extender board. Is it possible to get it assembled? I don't trust my soldering skills with SMD components, specially something as tightly populated as a FRAM board.
no, can't offer pre-assembly for these boards.
I was fortunate enough to get a FRAM71 PCB, and while waiting for it to arrive, I wanted to start collecting parts. I have looked thorough this thread and the "Pre-Production" thread, done a search on the site, but haven't seen a parts list/BOM for the PCB. I grabbed all the documentation I could find, the firmware, etc.

What am I missing? I found the bezel on ShapeWay and the module holder. Is there a source for the connector pins or do I have to cannibalize an old card reader? I suspect the other components are fairly easy to source. I also got a FlashPro5 on order.

Of course, a huge thank you for everyone is involved in this, especially Hans!

Hans said he'll email a BOM in a few days. Be aware that the firmware you grabbed isn't for the FRAM71B. Hans will need to release that as well.

Thank you Dave. Thanks for the heads up about the firmware.

David
thanks for bringing this up.
yes, will send BOM (all parts are either from mouser or digikey), a magnified layout print for locating the components, and the FRAM71B firmware.

There're only 7 parts on the Extender. How many folks would be interested in an assembled board?

I would be interested.
So do I !!!
Really interrested in a FRAM71B module !

My inquiry was with respect to the 512k Extender and I believe that all of the boards are gone. Your best bet for a FRAM71 is through the Classifieds here.

Dave
I would be interested in acquiring a FRAM71 or FRAM71B if they were available.

Or would you recommend some other hardware?

I know this thread has been dead for a long time.
