In this link there is a notion that 7 is perfect because there are 7 days in a week. Now -- why should that be? Why not 10 seconds in a minute, 10 in an hour, 10 hours in a day, 10 days in a week etc. (The base unit being a second, which would have to be redefined). Before the Bible was published (for want of a better term), were there in fact 7 days in a week? Was the concept of a week even thought of?
