I need to replace the drive belt of my HP 82162A thermal printer as it is nearly ripped (see picture). In an old thread somebody said that Projector-Recorder Belt Company (http://www.russellind.com) part number SCX-2.4 works. However, I'm located in Switzerland and I doubt that they want to ship a few of those gummy rings over the ocean.

Does anybody know another source for suitable drive belts? Or is somebody willing to do me a favor and play the broker?

I'm about repairing a vintage dictaphone. On my search for a new belt I stumbled across a seller in Germany known as larsen777 on ebay. The first belt I bought was slightly too thick. After a short email exchange I ordered a different one which will hopefully suit my needs.

Facit: Determine the size of the belt and search it on ebay. If you don't find the right size just ask the seller. Its email address is on each of his auction pages.

If you cannot locater a source in Europe, I'm happy to send some rubber bands to a friend in need, but may need your help narrowing down the right part. A quick look at the wesbite did not reveal any parts with numbering similar to SCX-2.4. Let mw know.
Thank you for your tips and offers!

In the referenced post the size was specified as 0.75" (inner diameter) and 0.04" (thickness). Converted to metric units this would be 19 x 1 mm. I guess I've found a source here in Switzerland:

I'll give it a try, otherwise there is eBay :-)
It's been years since I took mine apart.

Jürgen, could you confirm/infirm that belt color is black and section is square ?

Etienne

I've got the o-ring mentioned above, and my printer works again :-) However, the 1mm o-ring seem to be a little bit thinner than the original one. I think the 1.5mm (also available from the source referenced above) would be closer to the original drive belt. See attached picture.
