Hello All,

This may be a dumb question but how do you get rid of the pull-down register/stack display in the WP34s iPhone app? No amount of poking or swiping seems to work :-(

I'm using an iPhone 5c -- which I just got a couple of days ago, so of course the first thing I did was load some calculator apps to play around with :-)

Thanks for any help,
Paul

Upon further experimentation I did manage to make it go away, but not in a reliable way. In fact, both making it appear and disappear seem to be very difficult. Maybe there is some slight problem with the latest version of IOS? I'm running 8.1.2.

Anyway, other than this slight hiccup, I am actually very impressed with the app and look forward to learning more about the 34s (I've followed some of the discussions here on and off for the past few years, but never did take the leap to obtain one).

I've noticed a similar issue with the CONST menu when trying to select # at the bottom. It always takes me several trials until I succeed.

Cheers

I agree that it is not that easy: the problem is that the App was designed before Apple bottom screen menu and that now, the screen area sensitive the gesture I defined is too small.
I'll have a look at it in the incoming weeks.

Indeed. I'll have a look at it too as soon as I have some free time. Don't hold your breath.

Thanks Pascal, no rush. I appreciate how difficult it can be sometimes to find the time to do this stuff.

Thanks again for the app,
Paul

"Pull" up right at "0" key - finger on white to avoid iPhone pull up menu

Yes, with some practice it becomes a little easier, but I think I'll avoid that display for now. I'm currently reading the excellent Beginner's Guide document, switching between it and the calculator on my iphone. Lots of fun!

A new version is available and should solve the aforementioned problems.
Many thanks for the fix: it works great!

Thanks, that fixed it! And once again thanks for a really nice app.

Is there any chance we would see a version for Android?

Thanks,
Jake

Please.
I have too much work at work to work on an Android version. The programming part is easy but supporting many screen resolutions is slightly complicated.

If someone wants to start the project, I can help but that's all.

Thanks Pascal, I thoroughly get the too much work at work thing.

That said, only 1 resolution is really important, at least to me; ther opinions may vary widely Wink
I updated the wp34s app on my iPhone 6 running iOS 8.1.3 and when I try to call up certain functions the app closes and I'm back at the home screen.

This happens for me with
  • MATRIX
  • SUMS
  • TEST
  • MODE
  • PROB

It doesn't happen with
  • CONV
  • X.FCN
  • P.FCN
  • CAT
  • CONST
Indeed. It happens only on the iPhone, not the Apple emulator not the iPad Air 2 I'm using to develop it. Strange.
I'll look into it.
Ok. I found the bug and I have pushed a fix to the App Store. It can take several days before it is available though (9 days last time).
It was a compiler bug, a over-agressive optimization occuring only on some platforms.
Another version is available. It fixes a few other bugs due to the new compiler.
I've also fixed the H.MS display: it used a @ instead of ° in font mode. The bug was also present in the Qt Emulators and of course, I fixed it too.
Pascal,

Thank you for your work on this. I know it is not easy to keep a side project like this going.

Your efforts are very much appreciated.
