You all know about the basic concept of the 43S project (else please search the archives). Recently, we had a little keyboard layout discussion. So I'd like to ask you for your votes.

There are three candidates:
a) [Image: attachment.php?aid=1385], b) [Image: attachment.php?aid=1387], and c) [Image: attachment.php?aid=1388]

You may have seen a) already, while b) and c) are new. Please choose your favorite. This poll shall be open for 120 hours as usual. TIA for your votes.

d:-)

(Arithmetic operators on the left wing were an unambiguous result of a previous poll some months ago. You find it on this forum.)
Thanks. It's B for me.
B, of course.
BBBBB
B like Bernhard
YAB (yet another B...)

Thanks for doing the 43S layout, these options and also the new Poll Walter; agree it's bad in general to re-Poll, but upon seeing what it seems we voted for, it was immediately clear we should not vote for choices that we cannot see.

Happy New Year everybody!
My choice:
If arithmetic operators on the left, then on the far left: b or c
If more than one function key (f & g), than in horizontal row: remains b

Thanks for the new poll.
B. I'd rather have something as close as the well-known layouts as possible.

I have started fiddling with something along the lines of b and kept asking myself, why you didn't come up with that right away. Had I overlooked something...?

So b, clearly. and thank you!

If that's desirable (staying as close to "well-known" layouts as possible), then I'd vote B EXCEPT that I'd swap the right-most and left-most columns of 4 at the bottom. I went to the museum images to be sure, and that swap would make the bottom half of this layout nearly identical to the 48S/SX/G/GX, 42S and 32S. (I REALLY hesitate to bring up the arithmetic operators left vs. right thing again. Really. Sorry. You all can ban me from the forum if necessary. But considering the love many here -- including myself -- have for the 42S...)

Dale
I vote for b
Since the debate has been opened again, could we not have an "Option D" with the arithmetic operators on the right and the navigation keys on the left?

Just like the WP34s.

Why tinker with perfection?
'cause left is right, and right is wrong!

+1
Option D for me, please.

^ This

But absent that, option A at least keeps the up/down arrows on the correct side.
B Please!

No! For those of us that do ten-key by touch, having the plus sign at the lower-right is optimal.

Left is wrong and right is right!

Option D would be my top choice too. Option B would be (a distant) second.
