I returned home from the Swiss summit with a copy of the RCL40 Book, edited with lots of love for the HP community by the Bruce, Wlodek and Mark, and a great job they did. Proud to be among the contributors and so much fun reading the background stories, thanks guys for creating this.
Really recommended reading, available at http://www.hpcc.org/rcl40/

I am sorry you couldn't attend the HPCC conference the week before in London, where you could have personally congratulated Bruce, Wlodek and Mark :-) That gathering was very enjoyable and informative. It is rare that a calculator group could maintain its existence (and publish a newsletter) for all these decades.
Thanks,
Jake
Hello,
i bought the RCL40 book at the Allschwill conference in switzerland! very interesting.

Thank you very much for the effort Bruce, Wlodek and Mark.

I always have the book in my bag! i also have an Old Switzerland traditional songs on a CD but that's a different story :+).

Thanks

Giancarlo

P.S. the CD is not part of the book if you were asking...
Hi Meindert, Sylvain, Jake and Giancarlo,

Me too. Smile
For those who would like to buy both we have updated the RCL40 page with the costs for RCL 20 RCL 40 +
But how do I actually order the RCL40 book? I looked at the links & there is nowhere to place the order. I also sent an email to the editor of HPCC.Org but haven't received a reply.

Thanks,

Michael

From the RCL40: Recollection, Reinvention and HP Calculators page:
Quote:How to buy RCL40
To purchase online, please use PayPal and send payment in GB/UK pounds to treasurer@hpcc.org.
Please also send an email with your postal address.

There is no online transaction system, buying form, etc. ... you send the money through PayPal, then you send an email with your postal address to the specified email address.
Thanks Sylvain & now I understand.

Cheers,

Michael

Are both books complementary, or is RCL40 an updated version of RCL20?

They are complementary. Though there are articles in both volumes by several contributors, none of the content is repeated, all the material in RCL40 is totally new. I've read about 6-7 articles so far, all 100% compelling and educational. I'm still learning interesting stuff about topics I've known well for decades. Get them both!
I made a PayPal payment and emailed treasurer@hpcc.org, but haven't heard from anyone.

Same, but it's only been a few days, so I'm not quite ready to panic yet.
Received confirmation on the 12th. Book arrived yesterday.

Thanks for the feedback, Bob! Smile It's very tempting to get both.

I've tried to reach them but no feedback so far either, it's probably one person who may be busy with other things too.

So the idea is simply to put this email as beneficiary I suppose - I'm not sure about that part since I'm not familiar with Paypal but that's what I understand from the website. I may take my chances.
