I regularly see these for sale and wonder what the chances are of battery leak after all this time since release or whether the packaging has those clear plastic tabs to prevent contact until someone opens it?

Can someone who has opened one NIB (especially recently) comment?

The 15C Limited Edition model uses CR2032 batteries (like the12C Platinum), which shouldn't leak.
