Well, this is my second HP calc purchase in two weeks!. After buying a 50G last week to replace my damaged 48GX, and scanning through Ebay for HP calcs, I came across an '83 12C. Even though I'm more partial to scientific calcs just because I'm an engineer, I've always wanted to own a 12C but never pulled the trigger. I wanted an old one because of the construction quality and battery life. Well, I found one and won an auction for 10€!!. It's a USA made '83 12C, that has seen a lot of use, but it seems that it's in working order.

It seems to be missing the rubber feet. You can replace them by those small self adhesive cushions (dampers?) used in kitchen furniture on cabinet doors and drawers. They should be easy to find.
Another possible replacement might be some bicycle tube and double side adhesive tape.

Nice suggestion. Sure the calc is a beater, but for 10€, I think it's fine. Let's see when it gets delivered to me. What I fear the most is that a key would become stiff or loose and stops functioning, but I think they are built to withstand time and use/abuse, so it should be ok.
With a little effort, you can find fit to form replacement pads for your 12c (at a very reasonable cost) on the same site you acquired your treasure. I purchased two sets, for future exigencies, from same.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'm going to take a look at those right now.
I've just received the calc and it's in better shape than I tought. It's not pristine by any means, but very nice for a well used 30 year old calc. The most worn out part is the bottom plate, as you can hardly read a thing there, but overall I'm quite pleased with this deal.
Fantastic calc, great keyboard feel.
EDITED TO ADD: I've just bought a set of rubber feet for the calc. Nice price and seems to be good quality too.
