help! my prime g2 screen has become all white!
After an hour or so on a charger my hp prime g2's screen
has gone all white.

The unit will turn off and back on with the shift on and on combination.

I put a paper clip in the reset pinhole on the back of the unit, hoping the
display would reset--the problem persisted.

Are there any soloutions any one can offer.

I did sign up for the protection plan at the dealer.

Thanks.

I hooked the hp prime g2 calc to the computer and ran the
connectiviy kit. The CK responds to the keys and the touch screen
from the prime -- but the screen on the calc remains white --
and I see the results on the monitor.

Can anyone provide insight into this opportunity for learning?

Thanks
An internet search for:
hp prime g2 connectivity kit white screen

yielded this link:

The net result was the hp prime g2 had to be replaced.

I hope the big box retailer will replace my unit.

Later ...
If not, HP will, as it's certainly still under warranty.

But I'd call them quickly as the new Licensee companies that will become responsible take effect on Nov 1st, and who knows what will happen then...
Thanks for the tip. After the first day of panic I was able to do a
deeper research with the CK and find a clearer description of the
problem.

So today, i got the "best" service and should be picking up the
replacement hp prime g2 on November 4rth.

Thanks again.
The issue that you're experiencing is with the display the screen. The initial drop might be minor enough to not damage the touch digitizer, or the LCD. With the second drop, you're dealing with an LCD that is damaged to the point that isn't working effectively any longer. You can simply purchase a replacement screen.
Thanks for your post.

I am handy with some soldering/electronics/repair tasks.

I think I will wait for the scheduled Nov 4th replacement,
as it is still under warranty. Hopefully there will not be any
snafus.

Later.
So I was able to pick up the replacement hp prime g2 today.
It seems to be ok.

I even had many of my files backed up on the PC, but I have to
relearn some things. Now where are those stack pointers?!

I will even try a factory reset in a day or two before I put it start
actively using it for real world stuff.
( I avoided practicing the factory reset on the basis of the old saying:
"If it works or is not broken, do not try and fix it.")

Cheers.

Or, in Americanese: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it!"
So I did the factory reset procedure as described in the pdf file

hp prime factory reset

The procedure worked when I started with the prime turned off.

As for Amereicanese:

Not too long ago I could cross the Delaware River from NJ into PA.
The builboards contained the quote "Welcome to America".

I have read NJ english, American english and British english over
the years.

Cheers.
