Full Version: same formula two diff results?

In the attached image, you see the same formula twice differing only by putting ()'s around the negative number to which the exponent is applied. Is there something I should know here? I can see how this could really bite someone in the backside.

I believe this is because the Power operation has a higher precedence than the Negation operation. See the Prime's Algebraic precedence in the following post.
