Hi everyone.

Many years ago I bought HP50g, used it during my engineering studies. At that time I was quite skilled with it and replaced some of "stock" libraries with some spreadsheet, graph libraries etc.

Haven't used it since then as I moved to the IT. Now, I would like to reset it back to the original state and gave it as present to my friend.

Can you please describe me what to do, or point me to the some tutorials?

Thanks in advance.
I. Use Filer ([LS] [APPS]) to delete all objects in Ports 0, 1 and 2.

II. Clear RAM

Press [ON] + [F1] + [F6] simultaneously

The 50g will ask if you want to try to recover memory, choose NO, [F6]

Should be good to go.

Very nice of you to gift this to a friend. He/she will certainly appreciate it.
Thank you, I did what you told me.
I have SD card, it seems it is mine not the one provided by HP as I see lot of libraries on it.

There in one folder I see L226, 227, 229. I think those are some stock libraries. Should I install them back? Any guide how to do it?

Also, do you know if original HP50g is provided with SD card with libraries?
I solved it - reinstalled libraries from SD card, all works now.
Thanks.
In US, 50g units did not come with an SD card in the normal package, however I have read that it was sold this way in other markets. Several retailers in US also sold a 'bundle' of a 50g & SD card, so you may have acquired it that way, even though the original HP pkg. didn't include it.

Seems like you're all set, Good Luck.

That's not entirely true. They did for a while in 2008 or so. I have a couple of these in my collection:

Oops. Blush I did not know they were ever bundled, my mistake.

I believe I have 3 different forms of 50g 'bubble' packages, and only recently acquired a 50g in an actual cardboard box package, which I had never seen before, none with bundled SD card; it seems there were many more retail packages for the 50g than a casual collector can amass.
