It was raining over the weekend...
I pulled out my 82165A and a few breadboards and had some fun trying understand how the 165A "Control the World".
I can use both 8-Bit ports now, one for input and one for output, Option 2.
I am trying to find a way for the 71B to "trigger" an event on the port of the 165A, I use the DAVI and connect it to the trigger GETO.
The DAVI reacts, but nothing gets into the buffer even though the latched value is available - no visible pulse on DACO.
I suspect it has something to do with the 165A only being able to communicate one-way at a time.
Does anyone here have some experience with this? Can I maybe fool the DAVI with a small delay on the GETO.
Maybe this is too silly, but if someone knows, I'd take any advice.
