Full Version: performance impact of IL module without a connection/loop on 41C and 71B

I've noticed that the 41C runs slow when an IL module is installed without a loop / device connected. I assume this is normal. Is there anyway to prevent this? Is there are command or just loop the module to itself or easiest to just remove it?

It looks like the same occurs on the 71B, however, removing the module all the time is not as simple as with the 41C. Again, is there some way to prevent this?

TIA, dmh
Not being sure this would suit your needs, here's my approach.

Use the "Disable" switch on the 41-IL Module
and
use the command OFFIO on the 71, you can turn the IL-Module "ON" again with RESTOREIO.

Thanks.

I thought the Disable switch just disabled the printer functionality in the 41C IL module?

I will give the 71B option a try - thanks!
Actually on the HP-41 IL, you may be correct, i may be wrong here - the one for 71B is for sure the way to do it, unless you want to unplug.

Newbee to the 71b (since last Friday), i was wondering why it was so sloooow.
A simple program loop in basic printing chr$(I); was taking forever ....

After magic OFFIO, it runs MUCH faster now 8-)

Thanks very much !!
