Could anyone tell me the current value of an NIB HP-16c?
do you plan to sell one here in the classified forum?
I haven't looked at or for any information concerning HP calculators in over a decade. I had no idea if the interest slacked off, or maybe died out with the older crew. To try to answer your question,
I do have some HP calcs stowed away, I hadn't even thought of in about a decade as well.
Maybe it is time to put them in the hands of some folks instead of cases in boxes.
If you sell it on eBay at a reasonable price, one of several full-time vultures will snap it up immediately, and then it will be listed in about another 7-14 days by them, at 2-3 times the price.

If you sell these here, they will go to loving homes, though possibly at a lower price.

So, it depends on your goals and priorities...
Your goal should be to get the best price!

HP-16C in pristine condition with manual are sold around 400 USD on eBay. If you have pristine one with box and all the stuff, a fair price is 500 USD.

If you sell a used one, the price deepens on the condition. A scratch one in well used condition is worth for me nothing. You have to decide the price starting from 1 USD dollar up to 200 USD.
Keep in mind that asking for a price and getting that price is another matter.
I would suggest to compare eBay asking prices (here) with eBay sold prices (here), compare the results then decide on your asking price.
Do not forget to check calculator state, accessories state and shipping prices, sometime it changes things a lot.

It sounds like CY-CL is a collector. Without criticizing what he values, I want to point out that I'm the opposite: I don't particularly want to collect calculators. I want to use them. So I'd be much more interested in a scratched up 16C than a NIB one.

My point is that there's a market for calculators in various conditions, although clearly some will bring a higher price than others.

Same, those battle scars tell a story. Smile
