From time to time I stumble over the Member List. Every time I try to access it I read the following:
Quote:You do not have permission to access this page. This could be because of one of the following reasons: 1.Your account has either been suspended or you have been banned from accessing this resource.
2.You do not have permission to access this page. Are you trying to access administrative pages or a resource that you shouldn't be? Check in the forum rules that you are allowed to perform this action.
3.Your account may still be awaiting activation or moderation. (Resend Activation Code)
4.You have accessed this page directly rather than using appropriate forms or link.

You are currently logged in with the username: 'rkf'
Is it basically impossible to access the Member List, or is it only open to Forum Admins? If the latter is true, would there be a chance to hide this link for "normal" users?

Kind regards,
Ralf.
As I've said before, it could be changed, but so far there hasn't been any overwhelming demand for it.

A recursive reply! Well done Dave.

I too would like to keep the SPAM to a minimum, however would also like to be able to find members, e.g. by name, to send PM, etc. Is there a way to access (or search?) portions of the member list without revealing all the info? I think this would accomplish most of what folks want but still keep abuse down.
Probably not without writing code, and so far, I don't think there has been enough desire either way to code something in this area. Simply opening it up would be the easier option.
