I have a 50g without battery door, but I have a 39gs and it looks like the two case is identical. Unfortunately there is little difference, thats why I can not to place the 39gs' battery door into 50g. If someone has both of them, please post here a comparison, because I want to make a little modification on the door, but I do not want to do something wrong.

Thanks,
Csaba

Do you need measurements?

I am sure the size is totally same, the length and width perfect, just inside the "clamps" or "ears" different, therefore I can not to push it into its place.
I am sure the "undercut" is missing on the 39gs' battery door and on 50g's present. Or on the calculator's back body there are something difference.

Thanks for pictures from the back sides and "ears".

Hooks are offset from each other, and latches have different lengths. Radius is also different.

I once made a battery door for a Philips flashlight from PLA. Works. Somehow.

It has to do with the location of the tabs that project down to catch the openings adjacent to the backup battery. The cover for the 50g has these about 2mm further away from the front (the non-curved end) so when one tries to push the 39gs cover into place on a 50g the tabs are touching the edge of the opening too soon.

By the way, the cover from an HP 48gii (version 2, 4-battery) has the same problem. It is an exact match for the 39gs cover in dimensions.

To make the 39gs cover work would entail cutting the opening a bit (2mm) larger. Kinda drastic but if one has surgical hands and a Dremel tool it might work.
