HP provided the Emulator for HP-12C, HP-12C Platinum and HP-15C

These emulator when view in vertical orientation mode you will get

a basic calculator and only the exception is the HP-12C Platinum where

you get the "Tip Calculator" function. Others doesn't have even the percent

key in verticle mode. I noticed that to calculate percent is an easy task.

For example: 100 + 10% = 110 and the percent amount is 10

Keystroks steps are 100 [ENTER] [ENTER] .1 [x] display 10 [+] display 110
-------------------------------------------------
Since HP-12C Platinum got the Tip Calculator function this can be use for

adding tax or discount percent problem same as using the Percent function.

For example: RPN mode

100 + 10% = 110 and the percent amount is 10

Keystroks steps: Default input at Split key: 1 g [Split]

100 g [Bill] display 100.00
10 g [Tip%] display 10.00

g [Tip] display answer 10.00
g [Total] display answer 110.00

If you need to calculate discount percent using above example

[RCL] g [Bill] display 100.00
[RCL] g [Tip] display 10.00
[-] display answer 90.00
---------------------------------------------------
Remark:
Since 1 is input to [Split] as default any other input and output
can be use to calculate percent addition and percent subtraction problems.
This will be a very handy calculator app in vertical mode when you
need to use only one hand on the go calculations.

[RCL] g [Bill]
[RCL] g [Tip%]
[RCL] g [Split]
[RCL] g [Tip]
[RCL] g [Total]

Five variables above can be use as a Store Registers

Do you really need a program to calculate a tip or a percentage?
I am astonished.
Also save a few keystrokes and just multiply by 1.1

It's easy for 10 percent tip, but what if you want give 8, 543% tip? Smile

Thanks for all the feedback.

This is not a program but a function feature that included on HP-12C Platinum.

It is good to have at hand to quickly calculate percent problem.
