I can't say for sure but it seems like since I upgraded to 6030 my battery life is less. I upgraded yesterday and left the Prime plugged into the computer charging all day.

I put the prime in my bag last night and didn't touch it until just now and it is down to 0% with just sitting over night.

I'll make sure I do a wall charge tonight and pay more attention to the battery level tomorrow.

Anyone else noticing anything strange with battery life since upgrading?
I upgraded my prime yesterday (6030) and fully charged it. Have not used the calculator since. The battery indicator still shows fully charged.

ndzied,

I have two HP Primes. I fully charged both of them and updated to 6030. Both calculators are dead today.

Mine was 1/2 full at update...have messed around with it a bit today, and still showing half...
I was about to open a thread with this topic...
Mine was full this morning and I found it totally drained on my way back from work.
I suspect there is a severe issue with power management, like it looks switched off but it is not! Or it only switches off screen to the point you may think it auto powered off while it is still on.
:/ it seems to be a problem in our vintage REV A

May be I confirm that.
Can you explain how you identify rev A?

It says REV A in the about, same spot where the emulator says EMU. And with the fw verification that will probably be harder to tamper now.

I have a REV A that I updated without issue and I do not see this power drain issue.

Found it. The English version is much more specific "Hardware version" while in French it is just a letter after firmware version.
And yes I have rev A.
So we're doomed Sad
I have Rev A too, in Spanish version it's only showing an 'A' at the end as in the french one.

Updated firmware an hour ago, and turned off the calculator when it was fully charged...I'm crossing fingers so it won't happen to me tomorrow :/
Mine wasn't depleted but it lowered to half quickly yesterday (something uncommon based on my experience). I think it was due the flickering effect it had everywhere (weird white lines). I rebooted it with ON+Symb and today (without using it, power has been stable, still "full" AKA >68%).

Maybe is related with leaving some specific app opened? With the old firmware I experienced 1 day with this same effect (but the calculator was totally dead, not only half batt).

BTW: I saw a guy complaining about 1 typo in the English version in the HP forums HAHAHAH!: http://h30499.www3.hp.com/t5/Calculators...-p/6486268
If anyone is seeing a power issue, reboot once with ON-SYMB and see if it goes away.
I updated my "A" last night with it at half charge, then charged it. Today it is still showing a full charge.

Plugged it in and did On-Symb. Will report back tomorrow.
Updated 24 hours ago at full charge. Use it at work today as usual. Still fully charged as of now.

Same here.
I cannot show a formal measurement but it definitely looks like the battery is draining much faster. It is already half loaded while I only used it for a few minutes today and fully loaded it yesterday. I don't mean to jump to conclusion but never noticed that with the former firmware. And yes I did ON-Symb it (even had to hard reset it since it still freezes from time to time...).
Did you guys over-cloked the CPU to show better performances to the detriment of the power consumption?
My Prime is an A hardware version, with update 6030. It's totally dead this morning, after a full charge yesterday. It has been turned off since yesterday afternoon. I just ON-Symb'd it after life was breathed back into its' nostrils.

While my programs seem to have remained, all my VARS are gone, user settings (clock, modes, etc.) were reset, and the HOME / CAS screens cleared. The hp Prime must have gone down fighting...

Fortunately, I wasn't using it for some fun activity requiring any of those previous, but now reset, parameters!

Same here.
And for reference the serial number of my Prime is 4CY345xxxx. It's a version A and still at 100% today.
