The 50th anniversary of the HP35 will be coming up soon, and it got me to thinking: what would I like to see to commemorate the occasion? I'd like a recreation of the original calculator, not a modern interpretation. I was very disappointed in the HP 35S.
I don't understand very much on this forum. For me, there is no problem to buy any calculator. At the moment, CellSheet on TI-83plus helps me a lot in my work. I was very disappointed in hp-39gs, hp-39gii, hp-50g, 48gii and also in hp-35s. If on 9860gii I already in a week mastered spreadsheets and work with them constantly, then for the last five years I spent: 2×$150 for 2×hp-50g, $170 with shipping for 39gii, etc for $$. All of them failed in 4 years. Question: why is HP so popular on this forum? I was exhausted with HP-Prime for $180 in 2014 and couldn't master it due to a lot of defects, like in 39gii. Now I bought a very old ti-83plus_SE for $20, which is not even close to the hp-35s. What happened to HP?

I would suspect because the forum is for the 'Museum of HP Calculators', there might be some selection bias of the participants....

40 years.
You are lucky to live in those days when HP calculators could work for many years. I looked at the Cassiopeia forum, there are only 1250 participants. Does CASIO have so few fans? And the obvious fact is that other manufacturers don't have so many dedicated fans as HP. Maybe Swiss Micros will revive the quality of calculators? DM-Prime :-) I would buy without thinking about the price.

English is a very difficult language for me. Maybe I said it wrong. Attempt number 2: why other calculator brands don`t have as many dedicated and smart fans as HP? That`s what I meant.

It could be because Casio, TI and others target students and HP has traditionally targeted scientists, engineers and surveyors. These people are smarter than the average Joe (but NOT Joe Horn!)

2020 is gone and HP has ignored the 41st anniversary of the HP-41. At least there was the DM41X from Swissmicros.
I'm afraid that HP has no longer any reference/interest to its own past. Printer ink has a higher profit margin than calculators.
