Full Version: Is multi-quote not working, or am I just doing something stupid?

If I click the little multi-quote button (between "Quote" and "Report") on a couple of posts in a thread, then click "New Reply", there aren't any quote blocks inserted into the message body. If I click the "Quote" button on one of the multi-quoted posts, I only get a quote block for that specific post. I could swear this was working before using one of those two procedures.
I've only used this feature once or twice, but isn't it "MultiQuote" "MultiQuote" "Quote" to get the blocks?

That's what I thought, but when I do that, I only get a quote block for whichever post's "Quote" button I clicked.

Here's what I got when I hit the MultiQuote button on all 3 posts in this topic, and then finally hit the Quote button on the last post.

Done.

It appears the multi-quote feature has been disabled/removed? Was that the intended fix?

Uh oh... I hope you didn't interpret the "Make it go" quote (from a hilarious Star Trek Next Generation episode) to mean "Make it go away". Confused
Yes - it's gone. Maybe my brain is fried from another long day but I thought that's what the STTNG guy meant.

That's what I thought it meant too.
Joe ran out of room. The complete line was "It is broken. Can you make it go?" (as in fix it).

It's not that hard to quote multiple posts, just quote each of them separately and then use Copy and Paste to cobble everything together into one post. I've done it many times and managed it, even on my phone.

Having said that, I never realized that Multi-Quote was a thing, and I will admit that it does sound like a nice feature. If it works, that is. Smile

Sorry, my comment was vague, I intended to ask Dave if that was how the problem would be fixed. To be clear, I think the multi-quote feature is a very useful one and it should be reinstated as it greatly simplifies the process Thomas describes.

On an amazing coincidence note, that episode of STTNG was on BBC-TV Tuesday. Easily the most annoying alien race they encountered. Possibly the BBC programming team felt that airing the episode would clarify the intent of Joe's request. Smile
That reminds me, I need to get back to watching TNG on Netflix...
Eagerly waiting for Picard on 24 Jan.

Here is USA, this is only available on a separate 'CBS All Access' streaming service account, for an extra fee of about $10/month. I've held out not adding this to see the other new Trek show, but I may have to cave in to watch Picard....

Hi, Bob:

I concur, I also used it frequently, so here's hoping it will be reinstated.

I wonder what went wrong, it's been working perfectly for a number of years. And I also wonder how could it went so badly that dropping it altogether is found preferable to fixing it.

Best regards, Bob.

Available on Amazon Prime here, and there too, I bet...

Sadly, it is not available on Amazon Prime is US. There has been much public criticism of CBS for this selfish decision, and hopes that continued outcry will coerce CBS to bring it to Amazon here, but so far no luck...
