Hi all,
I think I read somewhere that the HP-65 might have had different CPU board revisions which may have changed the order of the pins that connect to the key/display circuit board.
Anyone know if this is the case?
cheers
Tony
Hi Tony, I am pretty sure that is not the case. I have swapped 65 logic / display boards without issue.
If you can get your hands on Tony Duell's circuit diagrams, there was only one HP65 circuit diagram shown.
Cheers,
John
Hi everyone,
we have quite a number of HP65 in our collection, and as of today we have met
two different versions of the logic board, also the CPU chip has a different aspect.
In the old ones (1333A series) the pins are gold and clamped to the ceramic structure,
I mean you can see them even looking from above (if you know what I mean)
in the newer ones the pins are only under the ceramic layer of the the CPU,
however the schematics is the same.
We have found some incompatibilities between the keyboard pcb and the card reader,
in some old posts we have written about it, someone may remember.
Hope this helps, take care
Hi Alberto,
I checked older posts and only found reference to the CPU pin differences.
Do you have more info on keyboard and card incompatibilities?
cheers
Tony
