According to the service manual, 240 indicates "CMOS power bad" (probably a typical error after the machine has been without power for a while), and 301 and 306 are both errors related to the 8041 chip. The manual doesn't say exactly what that chip is, but it sounds like it might be the keyboard controller, based on the other possible 8041 errors and some Google searching for 8041 info.
