Hello,
anybody know this:
On Saturday I had suddenly a small blue dot at the lower
part of the LCD. See attachment.
It’s a HP48GX with a black LCD.
This dot stays there even when the calculator is switched
off.
The intensity of the dot is independent from the LCD intensity

In the night from Saturday to Sunday the dot disappear.
Up to now it didn’t come back

Anybody may be had a similar behaviour?
Hi,
I don’t know if it is related, but I had the same kind of saturated LCD zone on my DM41, and Mikael from SM told me to elevate the temperature of the LCD screen around 75°C to make it disappear.
Maybe it’s the same phenomenon on your 48, based on temperature variation?

Regards,
Thibault

Thank you very much!

That's probably it.

I recently bought a 50g that was in great condition but when it arrived it had a series of similar blotches on the LCD. I took the batteries out and left the calculator face down on a radiator for a few hours to "bake" the blemishes out of the LCD and it worked perfectly. They went away and have not come back since. It would have been unfortunate for a blue 50g to have that defect!
Thank you all for your fast replies and tips.

The dot is gone on its own......and I hope I will not need your advices
in the future :-)

Regards
Thomas
