Yesterday, the 10,000th member joined MoHPC, a vibrant and active community. I recall posting similarly when we reached 2,000 members, not really expecting we would grow this far.

Congratulations to Dave, Katie, Den and Gene for cultivating such an interesting and welcoming place to meet interesting people.

When did the forum start?

I just had a look at Erics searchable archive of the old forum and found out that my first post (under a different user name, I visited so infrequently that I forgot the password) was on Christmas Eve 2002. Regular posts have started in 2011.

This new Forum started in December of 2013.

I've no idea of the number of members in the old Forum.

Dave?

While there is no way for me to get an exact count, and it becomes especially difficult because anonymous users could post, my recreation of the old forum with my algorithm for users came up with 6226 users. The actual number was surely smaller, due to double-counting, but it's probably fairly close.

Thanks Eric. As I watched the number here climb, I've often wondered how many there were in the original Forum, and I never expected 4 significant figures. Smile The old Forum felt to me like a smaller crowd, but always active there too.

He had more digits, but then applied "FIX 0".
