The label indicates MADE IN SINGAPORE

Maybe it’s been opened and repaired and the wrong label/sheet reapplied ?
Certainly looks like it’s been removed and replaced.
Does it matter that much ?,....

There is a lot of what looks like glue-gunk around the label. I would assume somebody trashed the original label opening it up and replaced it with a recycled label.
I certainly would trust the imprinted s/n a lot more than the sticker which could be swapped in a minute or two.
I guess, I have to formulate my question differently. Has anyone ever seen a Card Reader with a US label? Does anyone have a picture of it?

I have one, S/N 2019A00104, my original unit from 1980. The label is identical to Sylvain's example, except that either his or my label is upside down. My label is oriented the same as shown in the OP photo, which I think is correct/original, but this is my only card reader and it was rebuilt around 2013, so it could have been reinstalled wrong.
On the 12 to 15 card readers that I have, most are on the same side of you guys and not like the picture that I have shared.
