I guess there is no point opening up the 39gs I received today Wink.

Now on the hunt for a proper donor.

Try the RPN applet by Andres Capdevila on hpcalc.org, it makes the 39gs usable for die hard RPN users.

He needs a screen from a Saturn calculator, not an ARM calculator. That means 38G, 39G, 40G, 48G/G+/GX/S/SX, or 49G.

Thanks Eric, I had no idea the 39g+ was ARM-based. What an uninspired, and ugly, initial Algebraic ARM machine...

The keyboard layout of the 39G+ is the same as the 39GS and it seems to me that it is functionally the same too. It is a 3 cell design and would be to the 39GS as the 49G+ is to the 50G. To me the colour scheme on the 39GS is nicer but the 40GS is even better.
